Billericay Community Cinema are very pleased to announce that we’ve been awarded a grant from Basildon Borough Council’s Grants to Organisations Fund.

With a few months experience of showing films under our belt we have been gradually learning where we can improve everyone’s enjoyment of our real, not-for-profit Community Cinema and each show we make small changes. The grant for £1,800 will be bolstered by £200 from our own funds and will be used to improve and enhance both the viewing and audio experience as well as help us to deliver the glitz and glamour of the @BillericayCine Experience.

Here’s how we intend to invest in the cinema :

• We’ll create more of a traditional cinema experience by having floor-to-ceiling curtains on both sides of the screen.

• We’ll be enhancing our audio system. Although we are really pleased with the quality (and we hope you are too !) this funding will allow us to deliver more of a “surround sound” experience.

• We’ll be bringing a bit more “glitz” to the @BillericayCine Experience with some extras which help to create the wow factor

• Finally – but every bit as important – our blackout blinds are currently heavy-duty black plastic and whilst they do the job some are difficult to put up and don’t work as well as we’d like so we’ll be improving some of these.
