What a night. Our Silent Film evening is ALWAYS my favourite event of the year, I absolutely adore Buster Keaton in particular.

And it was a great night for our Volunteers too as we had not one but two Volunteer Service Awards. Jo and Ken were recognised with Volunteer Service Awards for 200 and 75 films – a remarkable achievement.

Jo has been with Billericay Community Cinema from the very beginning, whilst Ken was also present from the start – but as a customer. After a while, the lure of a free ticket and free refreshments saw him convert into a Volunteer (in truth Ken, like all of us, loves the buzz of volunteering).

We also welcomed back Costas Fotopoulos for the sixth time. Costas’ live improvised accompaniment once again delighted our audience and brought the screen to life.
