Where can I get tickets?

All of our tickets can be bought online at Billericaycine.com.

For our Dementia Friendly screenings can also be bought in person from:

  • Human Kind Café – ask at the till
  • The Chantry Centre – ask at reception

We recommend booking in advance so that we know how many are coming and how much cake to bake. Tickets will also be available on the door, subject to availability.

Refreshments and cakes

Thanks to local community radio station Gateway 97.8 FM, tea, coffee and hot chocolate are free at our Dementia Friendly screenings.

We also have freshly made home-baked cakes such as lemon drizzle, Victoria sponge and our gluten-free ginger for £1. A variety of soft drinks and sweet and savoury snacks are also available.

We are also very grateful to Billericay Town Council and their Event Assistance grant in providing the hall for our use, helping to make our Dementia Friendly screenings sustainable.

What films are shown and how are they selected?

We choose films that have worked well in other community cinema settings, including light-hearted comedies, classic musicals and familiar favourites as recommended by the Alzheimer’s Society.

The aim is to minimise confusion, tap into longer-term memories and avoid complex or fast-moving storylines. Examples include Singin’ in the Rain, The Greatest Showman and Casablanca.

With thanks to our generous supporters

We really appreciate the support given to help us ensure that our Dementia Friendly screenings become a long term, sustainable offering.
