Every ticket helps bring people together and support good causes across our community.
Bringing people together
Our screenings provide a welcoming place where people can attend alone, meet others and enjoy conversation as well as a film.
Supporting people living with dementia
Our Dementia Friendly screenings provide a relaxed afternoon for people living with dementia, their families and carers.
Supporting local groups
Our partnerships with local groups, businesses, the Town Council and Gateway 97.8 help extend the reach and impact of our work.
Providing volunteering opportunities
Volunteers of different ages and backgrounds gain confidence, friendships and practical experience, including Duke of Edinburgh placements.
One guest told us that Sundays had become the longest day of the week after losing her husband. After attending one of our screenings, she said she would be coming back. She’s now a regular attendee – and has made new friends.
Our “pay-it-forward” donation model
BCC is run by Volunteers on a not-for-profit basis. Any spare funds are used to support local community groups and charities.
1. We cover our costs
Keeping films and refreshments affordable.
2. Guests vote
Audience members choose which community groups they wish to support.
3. The surplus is shared
Funds are divided according to the audience vote
Our current supported groups
From July to December 2026 we are supporting:
Human Kind Café – a charity café in Billericay High Street which aims to create a world where everyone experiences a lasting sense of belonging.
Sunny Days drop-in – a weekly coffee, chat and activity group bringing older residents together.
Billericay Community Garden – helping adults and children learn, grow, share and enjoy the benefits of their labours.
Our impact so far
£11,000+ donated to local good causes since 2015
10,500+ guests
14,650+ Volunteer hours
We’ve supported 24 different local community groups and charities with over 85 Volunteers involved – including 18 Duke of Edinburgh students.
The donations highlight a real example of “pay it forward” in action!
