Sunday 28th February saw us putting on two shows. In the afternoon we had Frozen but the morning was devoted to a very special showing of Paddington.
We were delighted to have BOSP (Brighter Opportunities through Supported Play) as our very first “Guest Charity / Community Group” at our Grand Opening. During a chat we realised that there was the potential for us to host a show specifically for BOSP’s children and young adults and their families. The Library would be a safe, calm environment where everyone could relax and hopefully enjoy the show. We put out feelers to the Billericay Lions about sponsorship – which they grabbed with both arms. Whilst Billericay Community Cinema provided the equipment and volunteers, the Billericay Lions provided the funding to pay not only for the film hire but also refreshments for everyone attending the show.
