Interesting in helping run Billericay Community Cinema ?
Come along at 7:30pm on Thursday 29th September to Billericay Library where we’ll be holding a friendly, no commitment session over snacks, a little beer, some wine or tea and coffee.
The evening will be a mix of social and “business”.
Opportunity
It’s an opportunity for volunteers – new and existing – to get to know each other (not always easy at screenings when everyone is setting everything up!)
It’s an opportunity to get more involved in different aspects of @BillericayCine.
You might be interested in helping out on the night – in our Cafe, on the Ticket Desk, setting up the equipment or being a projectionist (not as complex as it sounds!).
Or you might be interested in longer term, creative activities. We enhance our shows by including “immersive” elements; the things which make @BillericayCine special, setting us apart from the commercial cinemas. You could help to identify props for films (as an example, if we showed a cowboy film we might try to re-create a Western bar, or bring in a large hobby horse!). , perhaps you’re interested in finding and showcasing local musical talent that could start off a show, or booking local groups for our Guest Community Group & Charity spot. These little touches make a huge difference and are really appreciated by our audience.
We’re aiming to match volunteers with activities that they are interested in – and most importantly enjoy!
Celebration
It’s also an opportunity to celebrate a successful first year – our October shows will celebrate our First Birthday, and toast an even better one to come!
The evening will run from 7.30 till about 10. It should be a lot of fun, so even if you haven’t been along for a while, do come along and reconnect.
